Yeah! What a relief! Mikey made it in to the Daytona 500 this weekend! It was a close one for him and we were on the edge of our seats awaiting the final results!
Kasey and Tony did awesome! This is going to be a great Valentine's Day!
I like whiskey and wine (not mixed of course), ice cream, saving pets and having fun.
I love my favorite girl and my boys of course (Milo, Deugen, Rutledge, Wacko, Mortimer, Junior, Peanut, and our newest edition, Rowdy).
Just a gentle reminder to "think adoption first"...before you head out to a breeder or pick up a "free" pet in front of the grocery store. Shelters and rescues have hundreds of pets available for adoption. Plus, a shelter pet is cheaper in the long run because all or most of the vet visits are taken care of. Did you know that almost half of the animals in shelters are purebred?
PLEASE SPAY OR NEUTER YOUR PET TODAY
I cannot stress enough, the importance of spaying or neutering your pet. Not only will it prevent unwanted litters, (and prevent euthanasia at the shelter), it will also prolong your pet's life. A few of the reasons are as follows: 1. Less roaming = less chance of being hit by a car (not running around looking for a mate) 2. No organs = no cancer (you can't get cancer if you don't have the organ to get cancer in) 3. No annoying, messy heat cycles (cat's not yowling, dog's not restless and spotting and the boys are not out looking for his mate.) 4. Prolonged life span (because of the reasons above) 5. Less aggression - no hormones to encourage this behavior 6. Cost savings - let me explain; sure you'll spend some up front fees for the surgery, but just think, you won't have to pay a stud fee, health checks, x-rays/ultrasound, possible c-section, and of course vaccines for the pups. Of course you can't forget the increased food and/or supplements needed for a healthy pregnancy. Then you have the stress during whelping...making sure the pups are ok and hoping mom doesn't bite your head off in the process. 7. There are many other reasons, just ask your vet.
